Yunnan's 1st 3D print workshop opens

Sculpture is not really needed to shape a miniature figure. The first 3D print workshop is now open to business in Yunnan on December 31, 2013.

Customers just need to stand for 3D scanning for five minutes, and one week later, they can get their 10-cm-height figure.

Making a printed 3D figure requires five steps: scanning, model repairing, color matching, model composition, and lettering on the figure bottom.

The 3D printing technology was born in the middle of the 1990s. It was praised as the most typical production tool in the third industrial revolution. Working as common printers, it connects with computer or SD card, from which it receives 3D model data and conveys the data into the printer. The selected content can be printed, to shape the “blueprint” into a material object.

The 3D printer can also be used for heritage studies, fossil duplications and medical model building.

The workshop is called Kunming Ruiku 3D print workshop(昆明睿酷3D). A figure can be a pleasant gift, but as all printing materials are imported abroad, the price for miniaturing a figure is kind of costly. The prices for both an individual figure and couple figures are charged on the basis of heights.
