Yunnan's total foreign trade reached $8.41 billion U.S. dollars in the first half year, up 14.6 percent year on year, ranking 22nd among similar provinces, according to local customs statistics.
Exports reached $4.09 billion, while imports stood at $4.32 billion.
Yunnan's foreign trade with ASEAN rose 23.9 percent year on year to $3.82 billion. The province’s trade with European Union increased 28 percent to $590 million. Trade with U.S. reached $290 million, up 28 percent. Besides, trade with South Asia countries expanded 3.3 times to to $51.89 million.
However, Yunnan’s foreign trade with Hong Kong and Taiwan reduced in the first half year, with a total trade value of $1.2 billion and $460 million respectively.
In addition, Kunming’s import and export volume was up 15.5 percent to $5.45 billion.
